Tap Classes

Tap dancers make frequent use of syncopation.

Choreography typically starts on the eighth or first beatcount. Another aspect of tap dancing is improvisation. This can either be done with music and follow the beats provided or without musical accompaniment, otherwise known as a cappella dancing. Tap classes are offered to students of all ages, beginner through advanced. It is one of the most important styles of dance, it teaches students rhythm and how to hear the beat in the music. It is quite complimentary for students taking other styles of dance, especially ballet.
