Modern Dance is a form of contemporary theatrical and concert dance employing specific techniques for developing the use of the entire body in movement. These expressive often abstract movements borrow   patterns and ideas from classical dance to gymnastics to current social dance trends. This class warm-up is based in Graham, Cunningham, Horton, and Limon technique. The class instructs basic modern dance poses and locomotive movement as well as conceptual exercises for choreographic form and expression.

Modern is currently offered for students ages 9 and up.  Students are required to have a background in Ballet in order to take this class, however they are not required to take Ballet simultaneously even though it is strongly recommended they do.
